“Kai Havertz 2.0” – Chelsea close to sign “Talented Midfielder” who’s likened to Kai Havertz

According to sources, Chelsea and Aston Villa are almost at an agreement to sign teenager Omari Kellyman for £19 million.

The Blues seem to be adding another player to their roster quickly after pulling out of a deal for Michael Olise.

Under new manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea has to bolster a team that placed sixth in the previous campaign if they are to reenter the Champions League.

Chelsea nears signing Kellyman for £19 million.

Chelsea has been heavily connected to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion after missing out on Olise; nevertheless, it looks like they may be adding another Villa player as their next acquisition.

According to The Athletic, the Blues and Villa are nearing a £19 million deal for 18-year-old Kellyman.

According to the source, Kellyman still needs to finish his personal terms and go through a medical examination before any deal can be finalized. The finer details will need to be worked out between the teams and the player.

Kellyman signed a long-term contract with Villa last October after joining the team two years prior from the Derby academy.

The young player debuted in the April loss to Manchester City and played in two Premier League games the previous season.

Kellyman can play a number of various attacking positions, according to The Telegraph, and his profile has been compared to that of a former Chelsea star Kai Havertz.

He would be the second highly rated youngster to swap Villa Park for Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Carney Chukwuemeka in the summer of 2022.
