Kovacic reveals major difference between Lampard and Sarri
Lampard replaced Sarri in the Bridge dugout in early June. The Italian decided to quit the Blues for Juventus after a single season in charge.
It was Maurizio who landed Kova on loan from Madrid shortly after his appointment at Chelsea. Frank’s stance was no different as he gave green light to the Croat’s permanent move this term.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 25-year-old has revealed he feels himself more freely now compared to the last season.
“The manager has given me more freedom to get up and support the attacks, I can collect the ball and drive forward,” he said.
“I feel good, I have a great connection with the manager and his coaching team and of course with my team-mates.”
Kovacic was instrumental in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Norwich City – the first Prem one for Lamps in charge of the Blues. Mateo has also hailed the team’s effort at Carrow Road.
“It was a tough three points and we had to work hard for them,” he added. “But we showed a lot of character and we had to because we needed this win.”
