CHELSEA are set to hold talks over a freebie deal for Brazilian winger Bernard.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk star is available on a free transfer after his contract expired last month.
According to Premium Sport journalist Andersinho Marques, Bernard’s agent is in the capital city hoping to tie up terms with Chelsea.
Marques wrote on Twitter: “Milan scanned #Bernard, but the agent is in London for a meeting with #Chelsea.”
The 14-cap Brazil international reportedly favours a move to Stamford Bridge.
Bernard has received proposals from 12 clubs but reports in Brazil suggest he is hot on the idea of living in London.
According to Globo Esporte, he hopes to tie up negotiations with Chelsea and finalise the transfer.
West Ham, Leicester City, Benfica, Monaco and Wolfsburg are also reportedly interested.
Chelsea have landed two new players in the summer transfer window – Jorginho from Napoli and former England goalkeeper Robert Green.
They were slow to get out of the blocks due to the confusion surrounding their managerial situation.
Maurizio Sarri finally replaced Antonio Conte earlier this month and they are set to step up their transfer activity.
Chelsea face Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly today (7.05pm).
