EDEN HAZARD could be set for a second consecutive match out for Chelsea after it emerged he missed training on Friday.
The Blues winger sustained a back injury against Manchester United after a challenge from Ashley Young in the second half.
It meant that the Belgian missed the midweek Europa League clash against BATE Borisov in their 3-1 victory.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek made sure that Chelsea did not miss their talisman after netting his first hat-trick for his boyhood club.
But another match out will worry Chelsea fans as well as boss Maurizio Sarri, who admitted that he is a doubt for the weekend.
“[Thursday], he is out for sure. He has a back problem,” Sarri said.
“We are trying to solve the problem for Sunday, it is not very easy.”
And Goal have reported that the 27-year-old missed training on Friday so he could receive treatment on his back at Chelsea’s Cobham training complex.
The former Lille forward has been in stunning form for the Blues this season, netting eight goals in 11 appearances in all competition to lead the team in scoring.
Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months as they look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
And the forward has even admitted that the Spanish giants are his “dream club” and if Chelsea fail to enter the Champions League this season then it would be incredibly hard to see him not leaving.
His contract expires in 2020 and the club would be forced into a decision or risk losing him for nothing.
The Blues are undefeated in the Premier League thus far, winning six and drawing three to sit two points behind co-leaders Liverpool and Man City.
Ethan Ampadu (knee) is the only other injury issue for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
