“Leave us if you want to leave” – Chelsea tells £70m Chelsea duo as club set to raise funds

As the Blues try to raise money, Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka have reportedly been told they can leave Chelsea this month.

Although Chelsea hasn’t shied away from spending big throughout recent transfer windows, it’s anticipated that the team will stay quiet this month.

With the Blues ready to move on a number of players who are surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, the focus is anticipated to be on outgoings.

Chilwell and Chukwuemeka told they can leave
Cesare Casadei is thought to have multiple suitors, whilst Axel Disasi has been linked with a move away, with Chilwell and Chuwkuemeka both completely out of the picture.

Enzo Maresca made it clear in pre-season that Chilwell wasn’t part of his plans, but the left back ended up staying at the club and is back training with the first team, even though he’s only played 45 minutes of football this season.

The situation is similar for Chukwuemeka, who’s time at Chelsea has been plagued by injury issues, and whilst he’s featured more than Chilwell this season, he too hasn’t played a single minute in the league.

Football London have reported the pair have been they can both leave the club this month, with the report adding Chilwell is unlikely to be short of suitors despite playing hardly any football for six months.

Chelsea are thought to want the full £40m release clause for Chuwkuemeka, which seems unlikely this month, and a loan deal would seem the most likely solution for the 21-year-old.

For Chilwell it’s unclear what clubs are interested, although he has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, whilst he would almost certainly have to reduce his wages if he agrees a permanent transfer elsewhere.

I have to say the likelihood of Chelsea agreeing permanent transfers for the pair that meets their valuation this month would seem unlikely, and a temporary departure seems more feasible ahead of permanent exits in summer, but in football you never know.
