Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a striker this January with Lyon star Moussa Dembele a top target.
The Blues have reportedly submitted a bid for the Frenchman but it was rejected by the Ligue 1 club.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has warned Chelsea off any deal for striker Moussa Dembele this month, claiming the Frenchman wants to stay and win trophies with the club.
“Moussa Dembele will not leave because he wants to stay to win something with Lyon,” Aulas said, according to Standard Sport.
“There have been offers for him and for other players but none of those that we want to keep will leave in January.”
‘We are not in a dramatic situation. It is difficult in terms of the content of our football but we are still in all the competitions,’ Aulas said.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has urged Chelsea to persist with a move for Dembele, a player he feels would be a ‘magnificent signing’ for his former club.
