Chelsea and Manchester United have been alerted to the possibility of signing long term transfer target Kalidou Koulibaly, by the President of Napoli.

Koulibaly is one of the few reliable centre-backs in the Seria A and he has been attracted huge interest from the Premier League top clubs.

When Sarri was appointed as the manager of the Blues, he signed on Jorginho but other players of the Naples based club were tipped to follow him. Elsied Hysaj and Koulibaly were among the players loyal to Sarri and they are still expected to join the Blues.

Gary Cahill is expected to leave Chelsea as soon as the January transfer window but the West London club are already in the search for his long term replacement, and Koulibaly fits the bill.

He has been barnstorming for Napoli at the heart of their defence this season. Before the sack of Mourinho, he wanted the club to sign the 27-year-old star.

However, Chelsea and United would be left to slug it out for his signature but not in the coming January transfer window, as claimed by Napoli President.

He spoke to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, as per Football Italia , de Laurentiis said: “We won’t sell Koulibaly in January. But the time will come where we can’t refuse other indecent offers. We always invest, but with criteria.

“In Italy there are two or three clubs with balanced books, and I’m the only one who doesn’t have any bank debt.”

Transfer market has valued the 27-year-old star at £63.00m.
