Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri hopes to convince Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez to move to Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old has made just one appearance so far this term and was left out of Barcelona’s squad to face Inter Milan on Tuesday in favour of Carles Alena.
The midfielder spent two years at Manchester City before joining Barcelona but his opportunities have dried up this term and he’s worried about his lack of playing time.
Sarri tried to sign Suarez on two occasions when he was Napoli boss and Marca claim the Italian will move for the Spaniard again if becomes available.
The report claims Napoli retain an interest in Suarez from Sarri’s time at the club and they’d be interested in signing him if he pushes to leave the Camp Nou.
Valencia have also been touted as a possible destination and Suarez is unlikely to be short of suitors if he opts to move.
Sarri’s interest stems from the uncertainty over Mateo Kovacic’s future.
The Croatian is on a season-long loan at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid and the Blues would like to make the move permanent.
However, the midfielder remains convinced he can make it at the Bernabeu and will leave a decision over his future until next summer.
