Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Here we go again.
Vidal joins Radamel Falcao and Hulk in the club of players who are continually linked to Chelsea – but never join. We choose to deny that Falcao’s loan move here ever happened.
With Antinio Conte at the helm, speculation intensified. The pair had an excellent relationship during their time at Juventus.
Even Conte failed to prise Vidal away from the Allianz Arena, but it looks as though Maurizio Sarri fancies his chances.
According to Bild, Chelsea, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United, are keen on signing the Chilean this summer.
The asking price for Vidal is thought to be set at around £27.75M, which is cheaper than we were previously quoted for him.
The worry is, we’d be signing him too late. He’s 31 now, his best years will soon be coming to an end.
If Bayern are prepared to cash-in, there’s likely a reason for that. We shouldn’t fall into the trap just because he’s a big name. It would be naive.
