Maurizio Sarri has provided updates on the futures of both Willian and Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.
Both players have been heavily linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Willian is thought to have attracted interest from Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Thibaut Courtois has one-year remaining on his contract, with Real Madrid’s interest in signing him thought to be genuine.
With the transfer window set to close in less than a week, the pair are running out of time if they’re looking to seal moves away.
Maurizio Sarri commented on the situation in his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.
He’s quoted by the BBC essentially confirming that Willian will stay put, but revealing that he is unsure whether Courtois will remain:
“There is not a Willian problem. I don’t know in the future. It depends on the club, it depends especially on him, but I hope Courtois will be our goalkeeper.”
If Courtois is to leave, it needs to happen fast in order for us to secure a replacement. Let’s see what happens in the coming week…
