Marc Cucurella and his partner Claudia Rodríguez have recently shared their emotional journey of raising their son, Mateo, who has autism. In an interview for the second season of the documentary series Married to The Game, Claudia opened up about the challenges they faced after Mateo’s diagnosis.
She emphasized the importance of teamwork in their relationship, stating, “You need a lot of time, you have to visit a lot of doctors, and you have to find a problem to find a solution. And after that, you have to be a team with your partner. It’s so difficult for the couple, it’s very difficult.”
Marc Cucurella also discussed the difficulties they encountered, especially during Mateo’s early years. He recalled how Mateo struggled to adapt to traditional schooling, often becoming upset and needing to be picked up early.
The family found a specialized school in London that provided the support Mateo needed, leading to significant improvements. Marc expressed that witnessing even small progress in Mateo brings immense satisfaction, stating, “When you achieve something, even a simple step forward, it gives much more satisfaction.”
