While many have been praising N’golo Kante over the last few years he spent at Chelsea and Leicester City, few have complimented Man City’s Fernandinho.
Yet famous pundit Michael Gray revealed his attitude toward the Brazillian saying he’s as good as Kante. He told talkSPORT:
“Look, [Fernandinho is] one of the best.”
“I put him alongside Kante. I know Kante’s had a lot of plaudits over the last couple of seasons – and rightly so, he’s a phenomenal player in that position. Fernandinho is as good as him. That’s how highly I rate him. He is, there’s no argument about it.”
He went on saying that the Brazillian is a unique player in Man City’s squad:
“What this boils down to is: have they got a replacement for Fernandinho when he’s not in the starting XI? When you look at their squad, it’s probably the best squad in the Premier League. And it has been for a couple of seasons.”
“They’ve got two top quality players to play in every position. The one that you question is that holding midfield role, which is only Fernandinho.”
Now when Fernandinho’s injured, rumours link Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas with a move to Man City.
