“Never blame him” “I was told to mark him” – Everton’s Captain reveals why he was happy for stopping Chelsea main man
The home team fought hard on Sunday afternoon to grab a draw against Chelsea in the Premier League match, denying Enzo Maresca’s team the opportunity to move up to the top of the league standings.
Chelsea was restricted to a 0-0 draw at Everton despite coming to Goodison Park this weekend in outstanding form, having won eight straight games in all categories.
James Tarkowski, the captain and defender for Everton, has praised his team’s performance, particularly in preventing Cole Palmer. Tarkowski was a member of a backline that played effectively against Chelsea.
Cole Palmer is the Chelsea team’s biggest threat, according to James Tarkowski, who also commended his teammates for stopping the star player at Goodison Park.
Tarkowski stated in a post-game interview that the Toffees were able to keep Cole Palmer and their opponents quiet during Sunday’s game.
It’s a good game, and I’m proud of the way we worked against a top-tier side today.
“They have some talented players, Cole Palmer in particular, who we didn’t give a chance to showcase his talents.”
“Don’t blame, i was told to keep him quite..he was always an instrument in every game”
Palmer, like the majority of Chelsea’s players, was unable to reach their full potential as an attacking threat against Everton.
There wasn’t much room for the 22-year-old offensive midfielder to move between the lines. Regretfully, he continues to lead the league with 11 goals and six assists thus far this season.
