Jadon Sancho’s subpar performance during Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Fulham has drawn criticism from Chelsea supporters on X. On Thursday, December 26, the Blues lost to the Cottagers in a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1979.
With a neat finish into the bottom-left corner in the sixteenth minute, Cole Palmer broke the Chelsea impasse. Shortly after the interval, Levi Colwill believed he had doubled their lead, but his attempt was disallowed for offside.
Fulham rallied back for the remainder of the second half and showed great intent going forward. Their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute after Harry Wilson netted from close range. Rodrigo Muniz then finished well into the bottom-right corner (90+5′) from a brilliant counter-attack to ensure the visitors secured all three points.
Sancho played all 90 minutes of the game on the left wing. However, the 24-year-old struggled, creating zero chances, completing no accurate crosses from two attempts, and losing two duels. He also had a big chance to score towards the end of the second half but his shot was well-saved by Bernd Leno.
