Footage has emerged of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante defending himself. In the clip, Kante is being interviewed for the club’s feature “Out of the Blue”.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has come with a strict policy regarding lateness as he has placed heavy fines on players who come late to training. Kante is known for his lateness to training, and during the interview he revealed that no one comes late.
“I will save it this year,” Kante said. “The fine is expensive. “So no-one is late.
“It can happen but no-one is late. “Everyone is focused on the time. “So we don’t need this.” Meanwhile, Chelsea fans have called out Kante for not saying the truth.
“Kante’s always late,” one supporter said. “‘Everyone is on time’ – well, that’s a lie,” another said. And another added: “Still love you, Kante.”
Last season, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi admitted that Kante is the one Chelsea player who’s always late.
Asked which player is fined for small discrepancies most often, Loftus-Cheek didn’t have to think before dropping Kante in it. “Yeah, N’Golo! You wouldn’t expect it. He’s always late! Always!” Hudson-Odoi added.
