OFFICIAL Chelsea announcement made – Manager delighted with another summer deal
Chelsea goalkeeper Emily Orman has signed a new deal with the club, and will spend the upcoming 2023/24 campaign at Reading.
Orman signed her first professional contract with CHELSEA in the 2021/22 season, after joining their academy at age 16, before going out on loan to Championship side, Crystal Palace.
However – despite her impressive performances for Palace last season – she is well down the pecking order at Chelsea and the decision has been made to send her out on loan for the next 12 months.
The club posted: ‘Everyone at Chelsea sends our congratulations to Emily on her new contract and wishes her every success during her time on loan with Reading.’
Speaking on the new contract and subsequent loan, general manager Paul Green said: ‘We see this as a good opportunity for Emily to develop more match minutes in a competitive league. She’s coming off the back of a season of great learning, training alongside Ann and Zecira.
‘We feel this is the next step in her development and look forward to seeing her have a successful season with Reading.’
