Chelsea reported on their official website on Friday that Chelsea Women defender Maria Thorisdottir has signed a new contract with the club.
Thorisdottir has been rewarded with a fresh deal that will keep her at Chelsea until 2021 after helping the club win the double in her first season with the club.
A Norway international, she joined Chelsea in September 2017 from Klepp IL in her homeland.
Speaking on the deal, Thorisdottir said : ”First of all I want to develop as a player, to improve. I feel l still have more to improve.
”And of course to win trophies! I never won anything before I came here, so to lift the FA Cup was one of the biggest things I have done and I really want to do it again.”
Thorisdottir is in line to face the Super Falcons at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France this summer.
