Chelsea’s hopes of signing a world class striker for the upcoming season, 2018/2019, have increased after a world class striker announced that he will be leaving his current club pursuing a new challenge and opportunities.
Chelsea FC suffered from several issues last season, and one of the main issues was the offensive issues and specifically the striker, number 9 position, where Alvaro Morata failed to impress and score the goals for his team, which made Chelsea’s manager, Antonio Conte, to play Eden Hazard as a false number 9.
The latest news and reports confirm that Chelsea’s target striker, Robert Lewandowski, who plays for the German Bundesliga Bavarian giant and champions, Bayern Munich, has asked the Bavarian club to allow him to leave this summer to a new club.
“Robert Lewandowski feels that he needs to change and he needs a new challenge in his career, the management of Bayern knows that,” said Pini Zahavi, Poland’s international striker agent.
“Robert Lewandowski is not pursuing money or going to a specific club because all the top clubs in Europe will probably want to sign the best striker in the world.” Pini Zahavi continued.
Lewandowski has been linked to a move to Real Madrid for a long time, as the clubs Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United and potential destinations for the Bundesliga top scorer as well where Chelsea are keen to sign him to replace Alvaro Morata.
Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern Munich club is until 2021, with no release clause in his contract, which makes it difficult for him to leave, but Chelsea will do the best to secure the signing of one of the finest number 9 players in the world.
