Christian Pulisic has officially received a call-up for the international duty, as the US men’s national team are scheduled to play two friendly games against Mexico and Uruguay.
The news should not come as a surprise, as the Chelsea newcomer is the captain and leader of the team that has started a rebuilding process after missing out on the 2018 World Cup.
Pulisic is one of six forwards mentioned on the list, and his head coach Gregg Berhalter expects Christian to be an influence further up the pitch.
“I think Christian has a unique skill set,” Berhalter said as cited by ESPN.
“He’s a great attacking player and we want to put him in position to affect the game.
“We’re open to where we’re using him. We’ve used him centrally and on the wing before.
All those things keep adding up to the fact that we want him affecting the game in a positive way.”
