Chelsea and Hakim Ziyech have agreed on the personal terms of the player’s contract with the West London club, the official website confirms.
The 26-year-old will join the Blues from Ajax in the summer after signing a 5-year contract.
“We are delighted Hakim will be joining us in the summer, having been a key target of the club’s in this last window,” Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia commented on the news.
“He has consistently been one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe in recent years, which we saw first-hand in our two games against Ajax in the Champions League.
“We wish Hakim and Ajax all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.”
According to The Guardian, the Blues will pay €40m (£33.6m) for the 26-year-old to Ajax, a fee that could potentially rise up to €44m.
Ziyech has played 32 games for Ajax in all competitions this season. He has scored 9 goals and provided 18 assists, including 4 in the Champions League. The Moroccan was especially outstanding at Stamford Bridge, setting up 3 out of Ajax’s 4 goals in a dramatic 4-4 draw back in November.
