Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed a new 5 year contract at the club.
The club announced the move on their official website this afternoon, continuing a busy week which has seen Frank Lampard arrive as manager, and Alvaro Morata confirm that he will depart permanently next summer.
This is another real crowd pleaser. Ruben is not only an academy product, he was also perhaps our best player last season, finally showing his exceptional quality as he was given more and more responsibility by Maurizio Sarri.
Now, with a transfer ban in place and Lampard as his new manager, Loftus-Cheek looks set to go from strength to strength.
The bad injury that cruelly robbed him of a chance to play in the Europa League final will mean a slow start to this 5 year commitment,
but once he’s back up to speed we have no doubt he will repay the faith being showed in him by the club with this commitment.
Here’s to many more years of Ruben to come!
