“Pair them again, I love their relationship on the pitch” – Mikel Obi urged Enzo Maresca to keep using these two Chelsea players after Aston Villa clash

Chelsea defeated Aston Villa handily at home to conclude the weekend in third place in the Premier League standings.

Chelsea has won three straight games in all competitions after returning from the November international break in strong form.

On Sunday afternoon, the Blues defeated Villa 3-0 in the Premier League. Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, and Nicolas Jackson all scored goals to assist the team collect three points.

According to Mikel Obi, Chelsea has a remote possibility of winning the championship, but it will likely require something exceptional to overtake Liverpool, who are now leading the league.

Mikel Obi claims Chelsea duo Enzo Fernandez and Jadon Sancho linked up superbly well earlier today against Villa.

Sancho started on the left wing and was a constant threat with his dribbling, while Fernandez operated as a central midfielder that pushed higher into advanced areas when the team had possession.

“I love the relationship by the way that Enzo Fernandez and Jadon Sancho have created so far. The link-up play those two have had, more so than Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto on the right,” Mikel Obi said.

Sancho and Fernandez have been in and out of the Chelsea side this season, but they both caught the eye after starting at home to Villa. In particular, Fernandez was a huge standout with his individual contribution.

Roy Keane loved Fernandez’s Chelsea goal against Villa, which was his second goal in two league games.

It was only a month ago when Fernandez couldn’t get into Chelsea’s best XI and the rumours were flying around about his future. However, he’s shown recently that he’s an outstanding talent with a massive role in the squad.

In his last four Blues appearances across all competitions, Fernandez has two goals and five assists. It’s hard to leave him out of the starting line-up during this purple patch.

Maresca was giving Fernandez instructions during Chelsea’s win over Villa, and it’s great to see the recent turnaround from him.
