Pay £70m & have him -Club tells Chelsea on player Enzo Maresca loved to sign
One of the players Chelsea is supposedly attempting to sign this transfer window has now been valued at £70 million by another club.
Actually, the Blues have been rather quiet, but yesterday was the busiest day of transfer news for the team to yet, and some things began to come to light. It is anticipated that Chelsea will experience some departures this month, but there won’t be many arrivals.
However, there is one position that the club are now looking to sign in this window – they want to bring in a new centre back to bolster their options at the back in light of injuries to players such as Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, although there has been some debate as to how long Fofana will actually be out for.
Chelsea do need a new defender though, and it was Marc Guehi making the new yesterday, with Chelsea looking to potentially bring him back to the club during this month whilst the window is still open.
Palace set high valuation for Guehi
The Daily Mirror are reporting this afternoon that Crystal Palace will rebuff Chelsea’s offer to re-sign centre-back Marc Guehi with the south London club’s £70m valuation of the England international much higher than what his former side are currently willing to pay.
I cannot see for one minute that Chelsea would even entertain a price that high for Guehi, who actually doesn’t even have that long left remaining on his contract at Palace. I think for a deal to be done here then Palace will need to be a bit more realistic, if they are even open to selling their club captain, which of course they may not be.
