“Pay this amount and get Osimhen” – Napoli President willing to lower Victor Osimhen fee for Chelsea

“Pay this amount and get Osimhen” – Napoli willing to lower Victor Osimhen fee for Chelsea

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli has reportedly indicated a desire to reduce their asking price for star striker Victor Osimhen to €100 million (£84.6 million).

This might rekindle Chelsea’s interest in the Nigerian international, who has been attracting attention from a number of elite European teams.

Following his transfer from Lille in 2020, Osimhen, 25, has shown to be a highly productive player for Napoli. His explosive play style and prolific scoring record have made him one of the market’s most sought-after forwards.

To increase their offensive options, Chelsea has been actively looking for a top-tier striker. Last season, the Blues had trouble being consistent in front of goal, so adding a player of Osimhen’s caliber would be a big declaration of purpose.

Napoli’s original asking price for Osimhen was understood to be around €150 million (£127 million). However, the Italian club appears to be more flexible in negotiations, potentially to facilitate a smoother transfer process and to manage financial dynamics amidst ongoing squad restructuring.

The reduced valuation could also attract other suitors from across Europe, making the race for Osimhen’s signature highly competitive. Clubs like Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in the forward, who is keen on making a move to a club with a strong project and Champions League aspirations.

As the summer transfer window heats up, Chelsea fans will be watching closely to see if their club can secure Osimhen’s services. His arrival could mark a turning point in their pursuit of domestic and European success in the upcoming season.
