Pep Guardiola makes bold confession on Chelsea title challenge after Cole Palmer’s 4goals against Brighton
Chelsea’s recent stellar performance in both the league and the League Cup continued on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Brighton 4-2.
They have already defeated West Ham 3-0, Barrow 5-0, and Brighton 4-2 with 12 goals in their previous 3 games. This is very amazing.
Despite Chelsea’s recent success and evident progress under Enzo Maresca, Brighton is undoubtedly a formidable opponent, and many of us Chelsea supporters were afraid for this one. Nonetheless, Chelsea has had a strong record versus Brighton in previous years, and that was evident yesterday.
The Blues defeated Brighton with four goals in the first half, or perhaps I should say Cole Palmer defeated Brighton with four goals in the first half.
But there was some decent performances elsewhere for Chelsea too and it wasn’t ALL just Palmer, even though he is clearly the club talisman right now.
Pep Guardiola has made a daring declaration on Chelsea’s present performance, though, given that the Blues trail City holders by just one point.
“Enzo Maresca is a good coach he won the Championship with Leicester city and now he’s trying to do the same at Chelsea”
“If he continues this form on Chelsea players, they will definitely challenge for the title” remarked Pep.
“IF they glue together very well they will dominate the season and get the best out of it”
