Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir remains a transfer target for Chelsea, according to reports in France.
The playmaker has 18 months left on his contract at his current club, but he recently refused a new deal. The Frenchman has explained that he remains keen on playing abroad:
“I do not know (how long he will stay). Last year was supposed to be my last, and in the end, I’m still here. I cannot know the answer to this. I am happy at Lyon, but which player doesn’t dream of discovering a new league, another club?”
A £53m transfer to Liverpool failed last summer, but a move to Chelsea is reportedly still a possibility. When asked about the Blues, Fekir seemed open to the prospect of making the switch to Stamford Bridge despite stating he has had no contact with the London club:
“They haven’t called me, but they can be watching my situation without calling me.”
Fans on Twitter think the 25-year-old would be an ideal fit for Chelsea to add more goals to the midfield:

Fekir would be a very a good signing, i dnt think it necessarily means Hazard is leaving, bt if he does, we would at least stop being a “one man team” nd hopefully we can win based on team work.

He’d go a long way to solving our offensive problems

Fekir has been in scintillating form recently, having scored four goals and provided one assist in his last five league games.
In total, the France international has hit the back of the net nine times this campaign, having made 21 appearances in all competitions.
