Pochettino set to make 19-year-old youngster a starter for Chelsea

According to latest reports, Reports have claimed that Chelsea could now be about to have some new blood in their regular starting side.

According to Goal, there is every chance that Romeo Lavia establishes himself as a starter when he finally makes his first appearance for the club.

Lavia was one of the big-name signings of the summer transfer window, however he is yet to play a minute for the Blues after picking up an injury just weeks after making his move.

This has seen him join Christopher Nkunku as a summer signing who has not been able to make his mark on the Premier League as of yet.

However, the mood was boosted among the supporters when the duo were both spotted back on the grass together a few weeks ago.

Mauricio Pochettino has been coy over when the duo will be back in action, however all the signs are saying they will both be back in the coming weeks.

Lavia could become starter

It looks a certainty that the Frenchman will walk into the starting side, however a lot of discussion has been over whether the 19-year-old will be forced to settle for a place on the bench.

Nevertheless, it has now been claimed that there is every chance when the young midfielder breaks into the team, he will not be displaced easily.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo currently hold a monopoly over the midfield places in the side.

While they have both been good this season, you can’t help but think some competition for their place in the side would be perfect to get them to perform at a level supporters already have seen from the pair.

With fixtures piling up in the run up to Christmas, the return of Lavia will be crucial in keeping standards high at Stamford Bridge.
