Paris Saint-Germain intend to return for N’Golo Kante in the summer, according to Daily Mail, who cite the French sources on the matter.
According to recent reports, N’Golo Kante’s relationship with Maurizio Sarri has turned sour as the midfielder allegedly doesn’t enjoy his new role at the club under the Italian.
The French giants intend to use that assumption in their summer transfer campaign and try to snatch the highly-valued midfielder.
PSG pursue Kante since last summer. The source from Paris even claimed that Kante’s agent was willing to orchestrate the move to PSG then but Chelsea wouldn’t have sold their star player.
The midfielder himself proved that the rumour of PSG’s interest was true. He has told RMC: ”There was some interest from other clubs but after speaking to Chelsea I understood the club counted on me, I’m happy, and the logical way was to continue here.”
Asked about the ‘club from the capital’ [PSG] in particular, he said: ”There was a contact but like I’ve said, I talked to Chelsea and I decided it was best for me to stay.”
Kante has played out of his preferred position after Sarri bought Jorginho last summer. Nonetheless, the midfielder has shown a willingness to adapt to the new role and signed a new five-year, almost a £300,000-a-week contract with Chelsea.
Commenting on his new role under Maurizio Sarri, the Frenchman said in December: “I like this position. The manager has given me the confidence to play this position since the beginning of the season. I am trying to do my best and I will get better at it, and I hope to have success in it this year.”
The new position has awakened a new edge in Kante’s game as he has already scored three Premier League and one Carabao Cup goal this season. It is as many as he had managed in his first three seasons in English football combined.
