Real Madrid are reportedly growing in confidence that they can sign Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in a €40M deal.
Following Courtois’ heroics for Belgium against Brazil in the World Cup quarter-final, you’d think Chelsea mad to be willing to cash-in for that price.
However, if he refuses to sign a contract extension, we will no longer have a choice. Courtois will have to be sold for whatever fee we can get in return, else we run the risk of losing him on a Bosman next summer.
According to AS, Courtois has (finally) reached the top of Real Madrid’s transfer wish-list, following their failures to sign either of David De Gea or Alisson Becker.
The report claims that Los Blancos are confident that they can strike a deal with Chelsea in the region of €40M for the transfer of Courtois.
We’d be gutted to see him go, but all things considered, that’d be a fair price.
