Real Madrid keen to sign Chelsea rising star January
Real Madrid is keeping an eye on 18-year-old Chelsea star Josh Acheampong. The defender is gaining a lot of attention with his progress. He has the ability to be an excellent player. At the same time, he is a right back.
As a result, there aren’t many excellent players at that position. So, if the right-back continues to improve, he could be in high demand. In fact, Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid is already keeping a look out for him. We may even see them making an offer for the 18-year-old very soon.
Who is Josh Acheampong?
The right-back is a product of Chelsea’s academy. As per wikipedia, he joined the Blues as an under-8 player. Since then, he has become a member of the first-team too. As of now, the 18-year-old has made only 2 appearances for the first-team. Plenty of top clubs are already willing to sign Josh Acheampong. Liverpool are also monitoring him. As per independent, even Tottenham and Newcastle are wanting to make a move for the 18-year-old.
Will Real Madrid win the race?
Real Madrid want the 18-year-old star. They believe that he could be the perfect signing for them. Recently, Dani Carvajal picked up an ACL injury. So, he is out for the rest of the season.
There have been rumors of Trent-Alexander Arnold moving to Spain. But, Madrid don’t plan to replace Carvajal on a permanent basis. At the same time, they want a more defensive right-back. So, Real Madrid prefer signing Josh Acheampong from Chelsea. Especially considering that he would keep their wage bill in-check.
At the same time, he would offer a great young alternative in the lineup. As of now, Chelsea are not looking to sell the defender. But, we could see a loan deal taking place. It will be interesting to see where he ends up in January,
