Report: Real Madrid £188,000-a-week star could be in line for surprise Chelsea move this summer

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing Eden Hazard back to the club following his nightmare stint at Real Madrid.

The Belgian star is struggling to keep healthy, and picked up his ninth injury with the Spanish giants, ruling him out for another three-four weeks.

Eden is set to miss the first leg of Los Blancos’ last-16 Champions League clash with the Serie A side Atalanta towards the end of February, and rumours are the Blues want to bring him back in the summer.

However, according to a report by Defensa Central, Chelsea would only be prepared to pay half of Hazard’s original transfer sum of £88 million paid for the player in 2019.

The 30-year-old attacker has been handed a damning verdict by his country’s national team doctor, who says the Madrid forward is caught in a “vicious circle” and that Eden’s “chronic” injury problems are “disturbing”.

Hazard netted 110 times for Chelsea in 352 competitive matches across all competitions since his transfer from Lille back in 2012.

However, since transfering to the Santiago Bernabeu, the player has managed to score just four goals in 35 matches for the Galacticos.

Elsewhere, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel could be sacked in the summer if he doesn’t qualify for the UEFA Champions League, reckons former Tottenham star, Tim Sherwood.

“I think Tuchel has come with a reputation but no matter what his reputation says, he has to win,” Tim told Premier League Productions.

“I think he signed a very short-term contract. If he wants to stay at the club, he’s going to have to take them into the top four, minimum, this season.”
