Arsenal are interested in signing Chelsea winger Willian, according to Le10 Sport. The French magazine claims the Gunners, along with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are all keen on snapping up the Brazilian this summer.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in June, and although the player is said to be happy at his current club, his demand for a three-year contract extension has fallen on deaf ears.
The Blues are only prepared to offer a two-year deal.
Whether Arsenal would be more accommodating in this regard, it remains to be seen, but with a limited budget, signing someone of Willian’s ability without the need for a transfer fee may have attracted the London club into entering the race for the winger.
It will be a tough battle to win the race for the Brazilian international’s signature, though, with Barcelona and Juventus also apparently keen on the midfielder.
This season, Willian has been in decent form, having scored seven goals and contributed six assists in 37 appearances for Chelsea.
