N’Golo Kante played a key role in Leicester City’s 2016 Premier League title success before moving to Chelsea the following season.
The Foxes are now monitoring Baptiste Santamaria, a player that has been dubbed as the next N’Golo Kante.
Leicester City have an effective scouting network that has worked since the time of Claudio Ranieri when they signed a relatively unknown Kante from Caen in the summer of 2015, before he made a £35million move to Chelsea whom he also powered to the Premier League title.
Santamaria, 25, currently plays for Angers and has earned rave reviews in Ligue 1 this season. The former France Under-20 international is also being scouted by Tottenham and Everton.
Leicester City’s scouting system has seen them make bargain signings like James Madison, Calgar Soyuncu and Wilfried Ndidi, who have all played pivotal roles for the club over the years.
The Foxes are currently third in the Premier League, and are looking a strong force under Brendan Rodgers, and they plan to keep it that way as a model to fight the so-called Big Six.
