Roman Abramovich appears to have given the green-light to Chelsea moving for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
Following the shortfalls of Alvaro Morata last season, it comes as no surprise that Chelsea are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer.
The number one priority for Maurizio Sarri ought to be to replace Diego Costa. He’d no doubt loved to have had Costa at his disposal, but we best not dwell on the past.
According to Tuttosport, Abramovich is keen on signing Argentine goal-machine Gonzalo Higuain. It’s believed that Juventus value him in the region of €55M-€60M.
That is, as per the report, around the same figure that Abramovich has priced Morata at, which could add an interesting dynamic to the situation considering Juventus’ interest in the Spaniard.
Considering Higuain is six-years older than Morata, it’s unlikely that Abramovich would consider a straight swap-deal.
However, don’t be surprised if both sides look to satisfy each other’s desires which an agreement that would be mutually beneficial.
