Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has sounded a note of warning to Premier League rivals, Chelsea, ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash on Wednesday night.
While speaking with UK Mirror, Mane said that Liverpool will do everything possible to emerge victorious at the end of proceeding in the UEFA Super Cup billed for the Vodafone Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
The UEFA Super Cup is contested between the winner of the UEFA Champions League (Liverpool) and the UEFA Europa League (Chelsea).
Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League in the last campaign after a 2-0 win over Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, while Chelsea beat London rivals Arsenal 4-1 to win the UEFA Europa League.
Sadio Mane is certain that his Liverpool team has more than enough to beat Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup.
The Senegalese international is pushing for a start ahead of the game after he was benched for the Premier League opener against Norwich City on Friday.
Mane didn’t start the Norwich City game having just returned to Liverpool training after the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
He was part of the Senegal squad that reached the final of that tournament in Egypt before losing 1-0 to eventual winners Algeria.
