‘Sadly I have to announce this departure’ – Chelsea star reveals

Chelsea star Mason Mount has ‘sadly’ announced his departure from Twitter as he feels ‘the platform is changing’ as the Chelsea midfielder encouraged fans to follow him on other social media platforms.

After being named Chelsea player of the year for the last two seasons, he has endured a tough campaign with a Blues side who sit 11th in the Premier League.

Mason Mount has ‘sadly’ announced his departure from Twitter as he feels ‘the platform is changing’ as the Chelsea midfielder encouraged fans to follow him on other social media platforms.

After being named Chelsea player of the year for the last two seasons, he has endured a tough campaign with a Blues side who sit 11th in the Premier League.

Mount will enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and has been strongly linked with a move away from the club.

Liverpool appear to be the side leading the chase for the England international, with some fans speculating Mount has deleted his Twitter account to avoid potential backlash if he leaves the club for a Premier League rival.

Others feel it is a representation of how ‘toxic’ and ‘vile’ parts of the platform have become.

The midfielder announced: “Over the years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed connecting with you all on Twitter.

“Sadly, the platform is changing so I have decided to delete my account. You all can still connect with me on my other social media platforms. Take care, Mason.”
