Sarri decides No. 1 target to replace Morata & Giroud up front

Maurizio Sarri has made Edinson Cavani his top striking target as he looks to upgrade his current attacking options.

The Italian boss is unhappy with the resources available to him up front and has grown tired of persisting with Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.

Instead, he wants Paris Saint-Germain forward Cavani to join him at Stamford Bridge to strengthen his side.

Cavani’s current deal expires in 2020 and at 31 it will likely be his last chance at securing a lucrative contract away from the French capital, and Sarri is determined to sign him, according to France Football.

While the Uruguay international would be open to a move away, Chelsea face competition to sign him.

Napoli are keen on luring him back to Serie A, while Atletico Madrid are concerned by Diego Costa’s form and are considering making a move for the Uruguayan.

However, it’s thought PSG would be keen to sell to the Premier League, with Chelsea capable of offering closer to £45million for the forward, while Atletico and Napoli wouldn’t pay more than £36m.
