Chelsea started the new Premier League season with a 3-0 victory over Huddersfield, and Maurizio Sarri must have been impressed with his debut Premier League game as Chelsea boss.
The Italian dropped Eden Hazard on the bench for this game, and he revealed that Hazard isn’t yet up to speed as regard his fitness levels having just come on for the last 15 minutes of the game.
Sarri said: “I think that Eden in this moment cannot play for 90 minutes.
“He needs to improve [his fitness] and have more training.
“I thought the best thing for him was to play 15 20 minutes when the opposition was tired.”
Hazard showed why he’s one of the best in the league as he terrorised Huddersfield defence despite being on for just 15 minutes. His assist for Pedro’s goal was pure brilliance.
