See why Roman Abramovich could get Chelsea back after 2 years as strong conversation takes on

Roman Abramovich sold Chelsea two years ago, and Todd Boehly became CEO. There have been suggestions, according to trustworthy sources, that Chelsea will return to its prior owner because there are still decisions to be made.

Dmitry Bulykin, a former striker for Russia, feels that Roman Abramovich needs to return to Chelsea.

He asserts that unless they allow his countryman to repurchase the team, the Blues will not be able to win another championship.

The failure of the UK government to decide how to spend the £2.5 billion that Roman Abramovich, the former owner of Chelsea, received from the sale of the London football club, has drawn criticism from peers.

Almost two years after the sale was negotiated, members of the House of Lords’ European Affairs Committee deemed it “incomprehensible” that officials had not spent the money on Ukraine.

Despite being sanctioned as one of seven Russian “pro-Kremlin” oligarchs, the government decided to let Abramovich sell Chelsea in 2022 as long as the proceeds went towards aiding the victims of the conflict in Ukraine.

But because of a disagreement between Abramovich and the government over how the funds should be used, they are still locked in a UK bank account.

“It is incomprehensible that two years after the deal between Abramovich and the government was struck, it has still not been implemented,” stated committee chair Peter Ricketts, a former national security adviser to David Cameron.

“Mr. Abramovich’s unfulfilled promise at the time of the Chelsea FC sale reflects poorly on him and the government for not pushing for a more binding commitment,” the study continues.

“We implore the government to employ every legal tool at its disposal to swiftly resolve this impasse so that Ukraine can obtain much-needed, long-overdue, and promised relief.”

“The proceeds from the sale of Chelsea FC are frozen in a UK bank account while independent experts establish a foundation to manage and distribute the money,” the Foreign Office stated on Tuesday.

“Thereafter, in order to transfer the funds to the foundation, a licence application must be submitted.”

In May 2022, Abramovich sold the team to a group headed by US private equity firm Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly.

Abramovich’s company, Fordstam, had the assets frozen in a bank account last year due to disagreements about the appropriate use of the funds.

The money was supposed to go to “all the victims of the conflict in Ukraine and its consequences,” according to people close to Abramovich, but ministers insisted it be used just for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Financial penalties imposed by the UK government on Roman Abramovich two years ago for his alleged ties to the Russian government prompted him to sell Chelsea to American billionaires Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.

According to Bulykin, who told Odds.ru, which Russian might be sent to Chelsea to put things right? The person I would choose is the owner.

“If Abramovich can be brought back, Chelsea will win one of the major trophies.” Unfortunately, things cannot return to how they were, but that could change in the future if Roman Abramovich decides to fight back to win Chelsea back and the team is not progressing.
