“Selfishness & Greediness will ruin your career” “He needs to sit on bench to learn” – Olivier Giroud warns Chelsea man after what he did to Enzo Maresca
Noni Madueke did not look particularly pleased after being replaced by Mykhaylo Mudryk midway through the second half during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
Madueke, 22, walked straight down the tunnel after the substitution, which Enzo Maresca made as part of the double change that also saw Enzo Fernandez come on for Romeo Lavia. The latter looked to be struggling with an injury before being withdrawn, but there seemed to be no such problem for the England international before he departed.
The decision paid off minutes later when Fernandez fed the ball to Pedro Neto before the winger fired past Gunners goalkeeper David Raya. Madueke, meanwhile, did not manage to get any of his four shots on target.
But Olivier Giroud, a former Chelsea striker, has cautioned Noni Madueke from destroying his career out of pride.
“You’re not even the best player in this CHelsea team and pride is all over you, Cole Palmer is the best player and yet he’s loyal to his teammates and he keeps moving up, winning so many awards and he will surely win trophies for Chelsea”
“Enzo Maresca has come in and turned this young Chelsea team around. They needed a discipline coach.” To give Noni Madueke some lessons, Enzo Maresca should sideline him for four games. When you get sub, how would you feel about storming into the tunnel? That’s rude,” he remarked.
