“Sell him to us” – Man Utd could finally complete Chelsea transfer this January after fresh Enzo Maresca update

According to a recent update from Enzo Maresca, Manchester United may have another opportunity come January to purchase an unwanted Chelsea player. The Blues offloaded a lot of undesired players during the summer transfer window; following a period of separate training, several of the members of the infamous “bomb squad” went on to find new teams.

After building up massive spending expenditures under the present ownership group for a few years, Chelsea was able to balance their budget thanks to the exits. Though made available, Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell chose to remain at their current club, indicating that not everyone was successful in finding a new one.

As a result, both players have been invited back to the first team, although it appears that only Chukwuemeka will have a chance to actually a game time, with Chilwell way down in the pecking order, according to a recent update from Blues boss Maresca.

“Yes, at the moment we need him, why not? I said it many times and I will say again that, as long as Chilly is with us, he is a Chelsea player,” he said. “And if we need him, we give him a chance and minutes.”

Asked if he regrets his ruthless treatment of Chilwell and others, Maresca added: “We all make mistakes. Probably yes; probably no. I am here to take decisions. Sometimes they are good decisions and sometimes they are not good. The only thing I can say is that there is not any bad intention from me. It is just to see things and try to think about the best things for the club.” Chilwell last played for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup against Barrow last week.

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea will encourage bids for their England international left-back ahead of and during the January transfer window. United were heavily linked with a move in the summer, and they could make another approach having been left short at left-back due to the absences of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
