“Should Enzo MAresca approve deal?” – One Chelsea board back Chelsea on signing £73m man before deadline
Jadon Sancho, a winger for Manchester United, appears to have at least one fan at Chelsea.
Jadon Sancho is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea as they look to bolster their offensive line in advance of this Friday’s transfer deadline.
Even though the Blues have already signed Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, they are still considering Sancho.
Sancho, 24, is unlikely to be an important player for Erik ten Hag this season, but if he accepts Chelsea’s offer to take a pay reduction, a move is feasible. He has already missed United’s opening two league encounters.
“So Shields would likely back this move if it does happen. And let’s be honest, Sancho certainly has a lot of potential.”
Some Chelsea fans want Sancho to replace Mykhailo Mudryk, so this potential transfer could also make them happy.
Chelsea should consider signing Federico Chiesa instead of Jadon Sancho
Looking at Chelsea’s squad, the Blues do not need another winger. Enzo Maresca has Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix, who can all play out wide.
Signing another wide man is just not necessary. However, if Chelsea, for whatever reason, feel that they do require one, then it may make more sense for them to sign Juventus’ Federico Chiesa instead.
Chiesa is likely to be cheaper than Sancho, with it being claimed that Juventus only want around €15m (£12.6m) for the attacker.
If the Blues cannot do a swap deal for the England international or get him on loan, then they are probably going to have to spend quite a bit of money to land his signature.
BBC Sport reported earlier this summer that United value Sancho at £40m, a fee Chelsea do not need to pay when you look at their current attacking options.
