Kepa Arrizabalaga lost his place in the starting XI to Willy Caballero in Chelsea’s last six games before he returned to the starting for the 2-0 victory over Liverpool on Tuesday.
Kepa had an ace game in goal for the Blues against Liverpool on Tuesday night and his performance in his return to the first team will definitely impress Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
Kepa kept a clean sheet against Liverpool, Chelsea’s first in our last nine games.
Kepa had been criticised for his poor save percentage, which was the worst in the Premier League before he was dropped by Lampard, but the goalkeeper had an impressive save percentage against Liverpool.
Kepa faced 5 shots against Liverpool on Tuesday night and saved all five shots.
Speaking after the victory over Liverpool, Lampard said of Kepa: “Today we got an occasional slice of luck defensively, but with some quality from Kepa and quality defending from individuals, and we took two chances that won us the game. Those are the rules.
“We are trying to close the gap to the opponent today, and to do that we have to find consistency.”
