Chelsea have identified Jordan Pickford as their number one choice to replace Thibaut Courtois, should he join Real Madrid this summer.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Courtois has been given the green-light to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
He has just one-year left to run, with his family still living in Madrid. If Real come knocking, it’d make sense to allow him to depart if the price was right.
We’d feel comfortable with selling him if we were able to secure a suitable replacement. There’s very few realistically attainable – Pickford is one of them.
Though Sky Sports believe that Everton would be unwilling to sell him, everyone has a price, and it’d be one worth paying.
Pickford proved his shot-stopping quality while playing for England in Russia. He’s only 24, too, he’s only going to get better and better.
This whole situation is certainly one to keep an eye on during the final few weeks of this summer’s transfer window.
