“So disrespectful” – Enzo Maresca slams after what he did to £130,000-per-week Chelsea star
Gabriel Agbonlahor, a former player for Aston Villa, has blasted Chelsea for ‘disrespecting the Conference League’.
Chelsea ‘disrespected’ the UEFA Europa Conference League, according to Agbonlahor, by leaving out a number of important first-team players from the roster.
To lessen their burden, players like Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, and Wesley Fofana did not register for the Conference League’s opening phase.
Speaking on it, Agbonlahor told Talksport: “I think it’s disrespectful to the competition because they wouldn’t do that for the Europa League or the Champions League.
“They are looking at the Europa Conference League and are like, ‘We are Chelsea, we shouldn’t be in this. Let’s rest our players who may pick up knocks, especially as Lavia and Fofana have had injury problems.”
Chelsea plan to register these players later on in the knockout stage of the Conference League.
