“Starting a player like him is called wickedness” “I hope I don’t get sacked” – Ajax coach John Heitinga blames Chelsea man after 5-1 defeat against Chelsea
Chelsea were ruthless in front of their home fans, capitalising on Ajax’s errors to record their second win in this season’s campaign. Ajax captain Kenneth Taylor was sent off for a reckless challenge on Facundo Buonanotte in the 15th minute. Marc Guiu scored from the resultant free-kick.
A few minutes later, Moises Caicedo let fly for Chelsea’s second before Ajax got a slight reprieve down the other end. Tosin Adarabioyo gave away a penalty, which Wout Weghorst calmly converted to halve the deficit.
However, after the match Ajax coach believes Enzo Maresca is wicked to start Moises Caicedo who makes it more difficult for his team to play well in the midfield.
John Heitinga said after the match: “I really have to swallow this ..Chelsea are one of the best young teams in the world”
“We hardly play much whenever Moises Caicedo gets the ball really did us dirty”
🗣He continued:
“If you compare them to last season they started really well in the league and Champions League. They have a young squad but a big squad. They have spent a lot of money in the last years but Enzo is building a team. It’s the team to watch.”
