Frank Lampard will have been disappointed with Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield United last weekend.
At 2-0 up after 45 minutes, the Blues were cruising and it looked as though they were going to pick up their second successive victory. However, in the second half, the Blades turned it around and managed to earn themselves a point.
It means that the former Derby County manager has won just one of his first five games in charge of the south-west London outfit going into the international break.
Lampard will still have a lot of time on his hands to get things right, at least in the eyes of the Chelsea supporters, but there have been questions raised in regards to his substitutions on Saturday.
Willian, Michy Batshuayi and Billy Gilmour came on for Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic and Tammy Abraham, and they really didn’t add much to the side.
The Chelsea fans have criticised these swaps, and they have taken to Twitter to do so. You can see some of the best comments below.
It has alot to do with him.
The ball should reach there. How do we let shlfd attack, attack, attack us for 45min everybody could see the goal coming. What did lamp do. Absolutely nothing just weakened the team by subbing mid nd bring bat who can barely hold the ball— neglected boy (@kaahil11) September 2, 2019
Lampard on why he played dropped Christensen for Tomori: ''Because I think Tomori played very well for me last year and training at a very high level. There is competition at centre-back, he deserved to play and I thought he played well. It was just a choice''
