‘Swap him’, ‘please’, these Chelsea FC fans want £80m attacker to replace Olivier Giroud

A section of the Chelsea FC supporters have invited the possibility of Olivier Giroud leaving for Crystal Palace, provided they can acquire the services of Wilfried Zaha from the south London side.

The Ivorian was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the early stages of the summer transfer window but the Gunners eventually shifted the attention towards signing compatriot Nicolas Pepe.

Towards the transfer deadline, Everton came up with a player-plus-cash deal meeting the Eagles’ £80m valuation for the winger but the bid was turned down with barely any time for Palace to find a replacement.

Zaha has since continued with his usual work for the Eagles in the Premier League but there remains the speculation that he could pursue a big-club move sooner rather than later.

Giroud has recently been linked with a potential winter move to Crystal Palace amid his reduced gametime and some Chelsea supporters feel that the club should make the best use of the situation to pursue Zaha.

The Blues are not permitted to register any signings until July 2020 due to a transfer ban but they are said to be hopeful of winning their appeal made to the Court of Arbitration for Sport by the turn of the year.
