The 2 Midfielders Abramovich Must Sign For Chelsea Revealed

Chelsea are expected to undergo a mini-transfer overhaul in the summer after failing to sign at least one first-team player in the last two transfer windows and the midfield department of the team is likely to welcome new arrivals.

The Blues were banned for the transfer window last summer by world’s football governing body FIFA before it was lifted by CAS but the lifting of that ban was not enough to prompt the club into a transfer splurge last month during the recently concluded winter market.

Chelsea fans are largely frustrated by their transfer inactivity last month and it would be difficult for the club to maintain that position into the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Chelsea midfield has not been outstanding this season with the current Premier League campaign as case study and manager Frank Lampard needs to find a way to improve that aspect of his team ahead of next season. The permanent addition of Mateo Kovacic has helped a great deal this season as the Croatian international has been the standout performer in the Blues midfield in the league this season.

He was on loan from Real Madrid last season before the move was made permanent last summer. His transfer was not affected by the FIFA ban as he had been registered during his loan spell. Chelsea have been linked with several midfielders in the last two transfer windows and this summer could be the right time for the former league champions to make their move. Some of the players include:

1. Boubakary Soumare: The Lille midfielder is a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea. He has been one of the revelations for his French Ligue 1 side this season.

2. Declan Rice: He was formerly at Chelsea before he was released at the age of 14. Declan Rice joined West Ham United immediately and the England international has since become a key player for the first team.
