“Time to replace Mudryk” – Enzo Maresca shortlist three players who will replace Mudryk

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, has suggested three players as alternatives to Mykhailo Mudryk, who is facing a suspension.

It is currently unclear whether Mudryk will receive a ban and, if so, its duration. However, the situation does not appear favorable for the Ukrainian winger, as he has tested positive for a prohibited substance. We are still awaiting news of what will happen to him. It seems, however, that he will get a hefty ban.

As the season progresses and more cup games come into play, along with the Conference League starting up again, Chelsea will need to find ways to cover Mudryk.

The Blues of course have Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho who can play on the left, but Maresca has named a couple other players to provide the cover there for them and Mudryk.

Maresca earmarks Tyrique George and Nkunku inside off the left with Cucurella pushing higher as solutions now that Joao Felix has left and Mudryk is not available.

“Our sporting structure has a lot of egg on their face right now. It’s bad business across the board here. I mean, you bought players only to loan them immediately,” Presenter Nick Verlaney said.

You’re bringing back players who should have been with the squad all along. It looks like a lot of mismanagement all around. And if you ask me right now if Chelsea have a better squad for the second half of the season than they had for the first half – I think the answer is unequivocally: ‘no’.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s only incoming new signing for January was finally announced by the club late yesterday afternoon!
